About us
We aim for a healthy and sustainable future, inspired by Bees
"Beelosophy"
Is composed of the words 'Bee' and 'Philosophy'.
Beelosophy not-for-profit was born in 2022, recognising the cultural and environmental significance of the Bee society. The decline of Bee and other pollinator populations observed worldwide (and the interlinked environmental and cultural crisis) are a major threat to life. This fact calls for concerted action at all levels.
Approach & Impact
Governed by a Bee-centred logic,
Beelosophy works to highlight the importance and safeguard the heritage of the Bee society and beekeeping, protect Bees from various threats, and learn useful
lessons from them. To implement its work, Beelosophy connects areas of related interest, promotes
collaborative networking and seeks the participation of local societies,
communities and entities.
Transparency – Accreditation
Beelosophy is independent from local, regional and national governments, public authorities and political parties or private bodies. It is monitored annually in terms of its operational and financial planning and results by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, since it is included in the Portal of Cultural Entities of the Ministry. In addition, Beelosophy is registered as a civil society organisation in the Hellenic Ministry of the Interior. Thus, it adheres to the principles of sound financial management, responsibility and accountability, transparency and honesty, as defined in law.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Beelosophy supports the fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through its work it practically declares its commitment to the protection of biodiversity, the well-being and the preservation of the cultural stock of the Bee society and beekeeping.
In particular, Beelosophy's work is related to the following goals:
