The Biodiversity Festival brought a special focus on pollinators, local ecosystems, and the biodiversity of the Cyclades to AeiforEver 2026 (19 & 20 June 2026), the sustainability festival organised by the Environmental Education Centre (KEPEA) of Syros Ermoupolis.

In Varnavas, Attica, beekeeper Christos Apostolou keeps alive a rare tradition: the crafting of woven beehives made from cane and rushes, along with the art of making the skoufos — the conical cover placed over the hive.
