EDUCATION AS A DRIVING FORCE FOR CHANGE

18 Schools Honoured

The presentation of distinctions and commendations to 18 schools that collaborated with Beelosophy marked an important recognition of its educational work. The awards were presented during the inaugural event of the International Thematic Network "Today's Student – Tomorrow's Active Global Citizen", held on Wednesday, 4 November, at the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports.

Beelosophy, Network's Scientific Partner, designed and coordinated educational initiatives that brought schools and local communities together across Attica, Evia, Crete, the Cyclades and the Eastern Aegean. Focusing on Bees, biodiversity and traditional knowledge, these initiatives connected environmental education with science and cultural heritage, giving students the opportunity to transform knowledge into hands-on experiences, creativity and collective action.

A particularly special moment was the presence of representatives from Tinos Junior High School and Milos Junior High School, who travelled to Athens to receive their schools' distinctions, as well as representatives from Anoixi Junior High School. Special recognition was also given to Beelosophy's collaboration with the Syros Ermoupolis Environmental Education Centre in developing educational activities across the Cyclades, with the support of the Green Fund.

The event was attended by the Ministry's political and administrative leadership, representatives of the educational and academic communities, as well as students and teachers from schools across Greece and abroad. The awards were presented on behalf of the Network by Angelos Karagiannis, member of the Pedagogical Team of the Network's 3rd Thematic Unit.

For Beelosophy, the value of this journey lies not only in what we have created together, but also in what we have discovered, what we have learned to share and, above all, in the realisation that we can all be part of the change.

Because an active citizen is today's student who learns to care, collaborate and take initiative.

Beelosophy continues to build bridges between education, nature and culture, inviting more people and organisations to contribute to a shared vision: turning knowledge into action and collective effort into a driving force for a sustainable future.
