BIODIVERSITY FESTIVAL

The Biodiversity Festival brought a special focus on pollinators, local ecosystems, and the biodiversity of the Cyclades to AeiforEver 2026 (19 & 20 June 2026), the sustainability festival organised by the Environmental Education Centre (KEPEA) of Syros Ermoupolis.

Through educational workshops, interactive games, creative activities, artistic interventions, nature-based experiences, exhibitions, and community events, AeiforEver 2026 engaged visitors of all ages in exploring sustainability through participation, creativity, and dialogue.

Within this vibrant setting, the activities of the project "Cyclades' way of bee-ing", the result of the collaboration between BEELOSOPHY and the Environmental Education Centre of Syros Hermoupolis, with the valuable support of the Green Fund, enriched the festival programme with hands-on experiences dedicated to the fascinating world of pollinators. Among them, BEELOSOPHY's Experiential Cooking Workshop stood out, inviting both children and adults to discover the hidden connections between bees, plants, and our food through local products, flavours, and aromas of the Cyclades.

More than a cooking activity, the workshop transformed biodiversity from an abstract concept into a tangible experience that participants could taste, share, and understand. Through active participation and collective creativity, it conveyed a powerful message: protecting pollinators begins with recognising their essential role in our food systems, our landscapes, and our everyday lives.
